Concrete scanning is the process of sweeping concrete using one or more forms of non-destructive technology. This technology includes concrete scanning with GPR equipment, coverage meter, instrument, or perhaps, high frequency scanning equipment.

Concrete scanning with GPR

Regardless of the tools used, they all have the capability to penetrate the ground and locate objects or anomalies within a specified depth range, even under various conditions. This is crucial for diagnosing concrete. Our highly experienced engineers interpret these anomalies, providing valuable insights on what lies beneath and, most importantly, what should be avoided during your project.

Ensure Safe Operations With Our Georadar Concrete Scanning Service

At ScanPlus Tech, we have a variety of different scanning options. These include the GSSI Structure Scan Mini ground penetrating radar and the advanced GPR Live technology, which allows us to see at greater penetration depths than ever before.

Again, regardless of the methodology chosen, concrete scanning with GPR is a relatively quick and painless process that, overall, only requires access to one side of the concrete, while frequently providing real-time images on site.

The Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR system) technology we use for concrete scanning allows us to locate embedded objects such as utilities, cables, rebars, post-tension cables or strands, electrical conduits, plumbing conduits, telecom pipes in or under concrete in order to secure work.

Thus, our expertise, experience and GPR data allow us to map the network on the surface of your structure in real-time so that you can drill or saw safely. This unique service allows you to prevent damages and avoid expensive repairs, time-consuming repairs and, above all, prevent accidents at work stoppages.

Safety and Injury Prevention

Safety and injury prevention are top priorities for us and for our many clients. It is at the heart of all our services.

The number one priority in the concrete slab is to protect the structural integrity or strength of the concrete, ensuring that the integrity of the structure is safe. When we detect and mark sections of reinforcing steel embedded in concrete, it guides concrete cutters and drillers away from the steel, helping them avoid injury and protecting the integrity of the concrete.

Post-tension cables are of particular concern and danger. The high tension these cables are under is such that if a post-tension cable is accidentally cut, it is possible for the cable to pass through the concrete and injure a worker while damaging the integrity of the structure.

Another major safety reason for the concrete scanning with GPR is the detection of electrical wires enclosed in conduits. Marking these conduits helps cutters and drillers avoid them, while avoiding the deadly consequences of an electric shock from hitting one.

Our commitment to safety is a way that encompasses the way we do business and educate our employees.

We also adhere to an Environmental Management Policy that ensures sustainable operations. Our highly trained technicians undergo a range of training post-employment, specifically, each new employee receives 9-12 months of training to keep your worksite safe.
